Lance Armstrong Scheduled for Tell-All Interview with Oprah

Oprah’s got another big story.

Former professional cyclist Lance Armstrong has agreed to a rare television interview with Oprah Winfrey where he will address the allegations that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his cycling career, which stripped him of his seven Tour de France titles. The interview, which will be held at Armstrong’s Austin, Texas home, will air at 9 p.m. ET on Jan. 17 on OWN and streamed live on Oprah.com.

Armstrong repeatedly denied the allegations that he was involved in a sophisticated doping program, but the New York Times reported on Friday that he is is thinking about admitting to the use of PEDS. Though, the newspaper cited anonymous sources and Armstrong’s attorney Tim Herman said he had no knowledge of a confession.

After the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released a report accusing the cyclist of doping throughout his career, he also stepped down from the Livestrong foundation, and lost multiple endorsement deals.

Oprah, who already has a relationship with the former cyclist, previously interviewed Armstrong in 2005 on The Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss his testicular cancer.
