Shawn Reynolds, a meteorologist from WFOR-TV has tweeted that 24 children have perished at Plaza Towers Elementary in Moore, Oklahoma after a tornado struck the school Monday afternoon.

The Oklahoma state medical examiner’s office confirmed that 20 children died during the massive tornado that ripped through Moore, but it is unknown if all were from the school. Seven children, however, did perish at Plaza Towers and are reported to have been found drowned in a puddle of water beneath the rubble.

Earlier in the day the Associated Press had tweeted that children were being “pulled from the debris.” A WFOR-TV reporter, Lance West, had earlier broken down while reporting from the school.
