The magazine’ website writes that the August issue of Rolling Stone will explore the life and times of the surviving suspect of the deadly attacks in Boston that killed three people. Contributing editor Janet Reitman spent the last two months interviewing those who knew the 19-year-old “to deliver a riveting and heartbreaking account of how a charming kid with a bright future became a monster.”
The magazine hasn’t been officially released yet, but the cover is already gaining much negative attention. The majority of the complaints are that the cover paints the suspected bomber in too much of a positive light, reports Business Insider:
“Why give the guy the cover of Rolling Stone? TIME gave Charles Manson the cover and all the magazines carried pictures of the Columbine shooters on the covers, too,” writes a commenter on the magazine’s Facebook page. “Don’t make martyrs out of these people.”

“Very un-American,” writes another. “F–k you Rolling Stone. I thought it was supposed to be an honor to be on your cover?”
