Seahawks Lions

Heavy on Seahawks Ken Walker will play for the Seahawks against the Lions.

The Seahawks received some good news as Ken Walker will suit up against the Lions. Walker will be active against Detroit for the Monday Night Football showdown.

It is a big boost for the Hawks offense as Walker has been sidelined since Week 1 with an oblique injury.

Our Old Friend Shane Waldron Looks NERVOUS With the Bears

Seahawks fans remember the underwhelming Shane Waldron era. It looks like Bears fans are now experiencing this same misery as the former Hawks offensive coordinator now holds the same role in Chicago.

A close-up of Waldron on the sideline during Sunday Night Football showed the assistant’s hand shaking like crazy during the Bears-Texans game. Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba tried to warn the Bears.

The Bears offense has looked pretty dreadful to start the season. It seems like the Hawks landed a major upgrade with new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.

The 49ers & Rams Are Struggling as the Seahawks Thrive

NFC West

Heavy on SeahawksThe Seahawks won as the Rams and 49ers both lost in Week 2.

The only thing better than winning is seeing your rivals in California lose. It’s an amazing week when both things can happen.

As the Seahawks pulled out an overtime win, the 49ers and Rams underwhelmed. Things look particularly bad in Los Angeles as the Rams fell to 0-2 after a 41-10 blowout loss to the Cardinals.

The Niners were upset by the Vikings with Christian McCaffrey headed to Injured Reserve. It’s early but the Hawks sit alone as the kings of the NFC West.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Has His Coming Out Party Notching 12 Catches for 117 Yards vs. Patriots

Heavy on Seahawks The Seahawks survived a nail biter versus the Patriots in Week 2.

It looks like we were a week early in our praise for Smith-Njigba. After a quiet Week 1, the wideout notched 12 receptions for 117 yards versus the Pats.

Seattle had two receivers top 100 yards as DK Metcalf posted 10 catches for 129 yards and a TD.

Seahawks Sign Preseason Standout, Cut Receiver

Seattle New England

Heavy on SeahawksThe Seahawks made two roster moves ahead of the team’s matchup versus the Patriots.

Seattle signed linebacker Jamie Sheriff and released receiver Ty Scott to make room for the defender. The moves happened days before the team’s Week 2 matchup versus the Patriots. Sheriff was one of the standout players during Seattle’s preseason.

The linebacker posted three sacks in the final two preseason contests, but the Hawks released Sheriff as the team finalized the 53-man roster. Sheriff was later claimed by the Panthers preventing Seattle from re-signing the undrafted rookie to the team’s practice squad.

The newest Seahawks linebacker posted 45 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and a forced fumble at South Alabama in 2023.

Ken Walker Unlikely to Play Versus Patriots

Seahawks running back Ken Walker is trending towards not playing versus the Patriots in Week 2. Walker is listed as doubtful for the matchup.

Seattle has already elevated running back George Holani indicating Walker will not play.

Bad News: Seahawks May Be Without Star Running Back Ken Walker vs. Patriots

Seahawks

Heavy on Seahawks The Seahawks may be without star running back Ken Walker versus the Patriots.

Things do not appear to be getting better for Seahawks star running back Ken Walker. The playmaker had previously brushed off his health after Week 1, but the Seahawks are now terming Walker’s issue as an oblique injury.

Walker dealt with a similar injury last season which caused him to miss games. The star did not practice on Wednesday, September 11. The News Tribune’s Gregg Bell described Walker’s status for Week 2 as “iffy.”

“Lead RB Kenneth Walker misses practice, is iffy for the #Seahawks’ game Sunday at New England,” Bell detailed in a September 12, 2024, message on X. “That doesn’t mean RB2 Zach Charbonnet or RB3 Kenny McIntosh won’t run, too. Despite his boms-away rep, the run game is in new Seahawks OC Ryan Grubb’s blood.”

DK Metcalf Agrees to a $9.5 Million Contract Restructure to Help Seahawks Gain Cap Space

Seattle Seahawks

ChatGPTDK Metcalf helped the Seahawks create cap space for this season.

DK Metcalf and the Seahawks essentially moved some money around. Metcalf agreed to a $9.5 million contract restructure which opens up some additional cap space for Seattle this season.

This is not a pay cut but a cap savings procedure. Metcalf is under contract with the Seahawks through 2025.

Seahawks Miss Out on 2-Time Super Bowl Champ Playmaker Kadarius Toney

Former Chiefs receiver Kadarius Toney is not headed to the Pacific Northwest after all. Toney is joining the Browns after visiting the Seahawks heading into Week 1.

The move makes some sense for Toney given the Seahawks already have a crowded receiver room. Toney left Seattle without a deal which left the door open for the playmaker signing elsewhere.

“Kadarius Toney completed his free agency visit with the Seahawks,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler detailed in a September 4 message on X. “No signing occurred during the trip. The expectation is Toney could take at least one more visit as he sorts through options.”

Seahawks Star Ken Walker on Injury: ‘I’m Good’

Ken Walker is dealing with an abdominal injury sustained versus the Broncos. Walker went to the sideline late in the game. The good news is Walker is not concerned about the injury.

“I’m good,” Walker said after the Hawks’ Week 1 win versus the Broncos.

Broncos Seahawks

Walker was the story in the Seahawks’ 26-20 victory over the Broncos. Walker posted 20 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown. The playmaker would have had a second touchdown, but the score was called back because of a penalty.

The Seahawks Offensive Line Still Looked Dreadful at Times

Much has been made about new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, and potential explosive plays for the Seahawks this season. If the Hawks offensive line does not improve, none of this will come to fruition.

Seattle’s offensive line once again looks problematic. The Seahawks allowed two safeties to the Broncos in the first half.

To make matters worse, George Fant has already been ruled out for the rest of the game. Fant has been playing in place of starting right tackle Abe Lucas who is also injured.

Geno Smith Is a Grown Man

It was a choppy start for the Seahawks offense versus the Broncos, but Geno Smith’s scamper into the end zone was one of the few bright spots in the first half. Hopefully, we see more of Smith’s rushing ability this season.

Seahawks Head Coach Mike Macdonald Sends Message to the 12s

New Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald wants Lumen Field to be LOUD versus the Broncos. Something tells us the 12s will not disappoint.

Tyler Lockett Is in vs Broncos for Week 1

There had been some concern about Tyler Lockett’s thigh injury heading into Seattle’s showdown versus Denver. Lockett is expected to suit up in Week 1.

We’ll get a look at how new Seahawks offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb will utilize the receiving trio Lockett, DK Metcalf and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton Is Confused by the Seahawks

Broncos head coach Sean Payton does not sound confident ahead of his team’s showdown versus the Seahawks. Payton admitted he had no idea what to expect from Seattle’s scheme under Macdonald.

The Broncos have been watching film of the Ravens defense under Macdonald. Will it help versus Seattle?

Marshawn Lynch & Pete Carroll Just Did a Podcast… It’s Pretty Epic

You wouldn’t be the only one not to expect a new pod to drop featuring Marshawn Lynch and Pete Carroll heading into Week 1. Two of the Seahawks faves appeared on the “Politickin'” podcast, which is a must listen.

In case you were wondering, Lynch thinks Carroll has been covering for former offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell’s BRUTAL play call not to give the running back the ball on the one-yard line in Super Bowl 49.

Pete Carroll Spotted With Bobby Wagner

Speaking of Pete, the former Seahawks coach was also hanging out with Bobby Wagner in Renton, Washington. Wagner just opened a new Crumbl cookie store.
