Malcolm Smith was at the pinnacle of achievement.
The Seattle Seahawks linebacker had been a key player on one of the most dominant defenses in NFL history. On top of that, he had just been named MVP of Super Bowl XLVIII.
Nobody should be able to take that moment from him.
But somebody did.
In one of the most bizarre videobombs of all-time, a man — who NJ.com has identified as 30-year-old Matthew Mills — interrupted Smith’s post-game press conference to urge for a probe into 9/11.
Mills grabbed the microphone from Smith and hastily shouted the following:
Investigate 9/11. 9/11 was perpetrated by people within our own government.”
After the incident, Smith looked around the room and said, “Alright. … Is everyone alright?”
Mills was allegedly arrested and charged with criminal trespassing.
