In light of San Diego Comic Con, top independent comic book publishing company Bluewater Productions is releasing a Paula Deen comic. That’s right, the overly apologizing, lying, and newly controversial food celebrity is getting her own comic book.
Paula Deen will be the latest celebrity to receive her own comic book from Bluewater Production’s line of ‘Female Force‘ biographical comic series, which includes comic book depictions of female powerhouses such as Hillary Clinton , Ellen DeGeneres, and fellow controversial cooking star Martha Stewart.
In a statement released to FOX411, Bluewater Productions writer Micheal Troy believes that Paula Deen will make a great comic book subject, even though her past usage of racial epithets caused her to lose her contract at the Food Network.
“Paula Deen is still an inspirational woman who has suffered much adversity in her life and overcome many obstacles. Her story is fascinating and it’s easy to see why Bluewater would consider her for their Female Force line of Biography comic books on powerful women.”
The comic book was in production well before Paula Deen’s became a maligned public figure, and will still continue to be illustrated and distributed despite her recent failings. The Paula Deen Comic will feature the recent issue, although that will not be the focus of the book.
Celebrity comic books have a long history of existence within the industry, and everyone from Orson Welles…
…to Woody Allen…
…have received the comic book treatment at some point in their prolific careers, so it’s less of a surprise than one would think that Paula Deen is getting her own comic.
The Paula Deen Comic will release in October and pre-orders will soon be available.
