Kendra Wilkinson’s father, Eric, was raised in both Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and Ocean City, New Jersey, before his family moved to San Diego, California when he was 15 years old. On Kendra’s reality show Kendra On Top, she makes the decision to contact her father who she has seen since she was a young girl. Read on for the facts on Eric Wilkinson and his relationship with Kendra.

1. Eric Retired at Age 48

Kendra’s father is a multi-millionaire. He received a degree in biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego. Eric Wilkinson went on to found several biotechnology companies, which allowed him to retire at the age of 48.

And, according to Kendra’s findings on her reality show, Eric Wilkinson is a nudist.

2. At First, Eric Was Hesitant to Meet Kendra on Camera

Kendra contacted her father while appearing on her reality show and the two scheduled a meeting in Costa Rica, where Eric lives. However, Eric was very hesitant to have cameras film their reuniting. Kendra tells People:

I wondered, ‘Do I want to go reunite with him on camera?’ Before this drama happened, my dad said he would rather do this in private. But when this scandal hit with Hank, he called me right away and was like, ‘Bring the cameras.’

Kendra went on to talk about how nervous she was to meet her dad:

Every single year I think about my dad. Waiting for my dad to arrive is the most exciting but terrifying thing. The last time I really thought about my dad as my dad was when I was five.

3. Kendra’s Mother Lashed Out When She Found Out Kendra Went to See her Father

Patti and Eric married on November 5, 1983 and they divorced on March 25, 1994, when Kendra was eight years old. Over the years, Kendra says her mother hasn’t painted the best picture of her father since her dad has been absent from her life. Kendra didn’t ask for permission or speak to her mother about contacting her father before she did and Patti was very hurt when she found out. Patti told Star:

Kendra and Hank are all about the ratings, so I knew they went there with a planned story line where, because of Hank’s infidelity, Kendra felt it was important to reconnect with her estranged dad. Just days before, I was picking her up off the floor, and now she can’t even tell me that she’s going to see her father, who left us — not to mention that she went with a guy who just cheated on her with a tranny.

4. If It Wasn’t for Husband Hank’s the Cheating Scandal, Kendra Would Have Never Contacted Her Father

Kendra opened up to People and stated:

If it wasn’t for this mess with Hank. I would have never had the courage and the strength to go to my dad. I hadn’t seen him in 20 years, but I had no fear anymore. And I couldn’t be more proud of myself. I am so excited that I did that for myself as a human being. And we’re still in contact. We’re talking almost every day, emailing each other almost every day, and sending each other photos.

5. Kendra’s Taken Her Dad’s Short-Comings Out on her Husband

Hank Baskett’s alleged affair with transsexual model Ava Sabrina London has been playing out on his reality show with wife Kendra. At one point, Kendra yelled at Hank and shouted that he’s leaving just like what her dad did to her. Then she yelled, “It’s divorce time.” Despite this, Kendra recently told Hollywood Live:

He loves me and we’re gonna be together for the rest of our lives. We’ll prove it … until we’re 100 years old. We’re gonna be together forever … We are on the road to friendship again. I believe that our marriage has been shaken up and I believe that this is something that is gonna renew us … as people, renew us as friends. There are curveballs that are thrown at you and you just have to get over it and forgive.
