While Paloma Jonas hasn’t taken up as much of the Hollywood spotlight as her soap star husband Jason Thompson, she’s made quite a name for herself in the world of modeling and lingerie.
With Thompson’s recent debut as Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless in the daytime forefront, many of its fans are curious to learn about the woman behind this successful man.
Here’s what you need to know:
1. She Married Jason Thompson on Easter Sunday
Decked out in matching-white attire, Jonas and Thompson wedded in San Pancho, Mexico on April 5, 2015. Jonas wore a spaghetti-strapped gown along with a wide-brimmed hat. Thompson donned an all-white suit over a pink-patterned shirt. The two completed their holy union on the beach along the water.
Several of Thompson’s former General Hospital co-stars, including Michelle Stafford and Nancy Lee Grahn had taken to Twitter to congratulate the newly weds.

2. She’s Expecting Her First Child
While Thompson has played a father on TV, he’s yet to be one in the real world. However, that’ll soon change as it was reported on November 21, 2015 that Jonas and her hubby were expecting their first child. On a Periscope broadcast, Thompson’s former castmates on GH warned him to sleep because his shuteye will be limited once the baby’s born. Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Jonas was heard in the background saying that Paloma’s “passed the point of morning sickness – which places her around 14 weeks.”
General Hospital’s Chad Quell was nice enough to ask Thompson along with Jonas reportedly asking the following:
“Are you sure you want your pregnancy announced now?”
Apparently, Thompson wasn’t aware that his baby news would be heard via social media.
For the remainder of the Periscope, Thompson’s former co-stars referred to him as “Daddy,” according to Celeb Dirty Laundry. Nonetheless, Jonas as her husband were beaming when he embraced her.
3. She’s Been a Model for Over a Decade
By her own confession, Jonas — who’s 5’9″ with brown hair and eyes — has been modeling well over a decade. Her mother agency is Chadwick. However, she’s also represented by Model Team in Hamburg, and Ford Models in the following cities: New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles.
On October 4, 2013, Jonas elaborated to Quinn Cooper Style about her experience in the modeling industry.
“I’ve been modeling for 13 or 14 years at this point. I think I stopped counting.”
“I love that you get to travel. And everyday is a little bit different you kind of never really know what you’re setting yourself up for. What I don’t like about it is it’s sort of one of those things where you rely on other people to tell you when you’re working”
Interestingly enough, Jonas was a 2004 finalist in a Chadwick Models in Sydney-organized contest. She also landed the cover of Nine to Five magazine in April 2010.
4. She’s the Co-Founder of a Lingerie Company
It was after meeting on an Aussie photo shoot that Jonas and friend Whitney Brown and came up with the concept for the ValentineNYC Lingerie, a New York-based company.
The two models’ objective was to come up with a line of bras and panties of a perfect fit and lace. Jonas and Brown aim to capture the “bold, independent, free-spirited and unique” qualities of women.
“We just wanted to do something we felt there was space in the market for. I love lingerie and so does my business partner. You know, there’s no small boutique-y lingerie companies. We felt like all our friends were looking for the same thing,” Jonas told Quinn Cooper Style.
Jonas — who’s company also maintains a blog — also stated that she sees herself “as the owner of a very successful lingerie company” in 10 years.
5. She’s an Aussie of Caribbean & New Zealand Descent
Although Jonas’s age isn’t listed, she did spill the beans on her ethnic background to Girls I Know on May 31, 2013.
“I’m Australian born – But my blood is a combo of Caribbean & New Zealand. Ain’t got the Aussie blood, just the accent.”
Despite venturing outside of her home country, Jonas is still a bit biased when it comes to playing favoritew with a location.
“My favorite city is Sydney, only cause I’m from there. That’s basically it. It’s beautiful,” Jonas told Quinn Style Cooper.

“These days, I keep it bicoastal between New York and LA. I get the best of both worlds.”
