Josh Hart Latest News
Out Thursday
Hart (personal) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports. Hart will miss his first matchup of the season Thursday, and his next chance to play will come Saturday against the Pelicans. With the 29-year-old sidelined, Miles McBride and Matt Ryan are candidates for increased roles.
Iffy against Minnesota
Hart is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Timberwolves due to personal reasons. Hart has yet to miss a game this season and is a late addition to the injury report Thursday. If the 29-year-old forward is forced to sit out, Matt Ryan and Miles McBride are candidates to receive increased playing time.
Productive across board
Hart produced 12 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-3 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one block and four steals over 33 minutes during Sunday's 100-91 win over the Magic. Hart was the total package in Sunday's win, as he recorded at least four steals for the eighth time in his career. Hart is on pace to return second-round value in nine-category formats this season, posting averages of 14.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.4 three-pointers in 36.8 minutes per contest.
Scores season-high 21 points
Hart recorded 21 points (8-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 108-100 loss to the Hawks. Hart's efficient shooting helped him post a season-high 21 points during Wednesday's NBA Cup Quarterfinals loss. The 29-year-old forward has been scorching the nets this season, recording 59.6/40.7/84.9 shooting splits. Hart continues to be one of the NBA's best rebounders, as he is averaging 8.3 boards per contest.
Available to play Wednesday
Hart (ankle) will play in Wednesday's NBA Cup quarterfinals against the Hawks, Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News reports. Hart was initially listed as questionable for this quarterfinal matchup, but he'll suit up and should handle his regular workload as a member of the starting lineup. Hart is averaging 13.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game this season.
Dealing with sprained ankle
Hart is questionable for Wednesday's NBA Cup Quarterfinals matchup against the Hawks due to a sprained left ankle. Hart may miss his first game of the season Wednesday after playing only 32 minutes during Monday's win over Toronto, his fewest since Nov. 25. If Hart is sidelined, Miles McBride, Cameron Payne and Precious Achiuwa would be candidates for increased roles.
Triple-doubles in win Tuesday
Hart closed Tuesday's 121-106 win over the Magic with 11 points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 13 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals in 39 minutes. Hart was remarkably efficient in this contest, notching his second triple-double of the season and his eighth contest with double-digit rebounds. Hart has also scored in double digits in each of his last 10 games while shooting 60.2 percent from the field in that span. He's expected to continue playing a secondary role in an offense led by Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, but Hart is certainly making the most of his minutes. Hart is averaging 14.4 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.8 assists per contest over his last 10 contests.
Logs triple-double in victory
Hart tallied 11 points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 13 rebounds, 10 assists and three steals in 39 minutes during Tuesday's 121-106 win over the Celtics. Hart logged his second triple-double of the season Tuesday and his eighth in his Knicks tenure. The 29-year-old forward is now tied with Julius Randle for fourth on the franchise's leaderboard for triple-doubles, passing Mark Jackson. Hart is also averaging a career-high 5.7 assists per contest this season.
Another solid effort in rout
Hart notched 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals over 31 minutes during Sunday's 118-85 victory over New Orleans. It was another solid effort by Hart, who continues to stuff the stat sheet and has now recorded at least 12 points, three assists and one three-pointer in each of his last nine games. During this stretch, Hart is averaging 14.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.8 threes in 37.8 minutes per game while shooting 59.8 percent from the floor. The 29-year-old wing has thrived in a full-time starting role for the Knicks following the departure of Donte DiVincenzo this past offseason, and he should continue to rack up the counting stats in a loaded New York lineup as long as head coach Tom Thibodeau keeps Hart among the league leaders in minutes per night.
