Miles McBride: Breaking News

McBride posted zero points (0-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one rebound in 13 minutes during Monday's 107-106 loss to the Hawks in Game 2 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. McBride had very little impact, failing to score in just 13 minutes. Outside of a 21-point performance in a win over Charlotte earlier in the month, McBride has basically been a non-factor. In eight appearances over the past month, he has averaged just 5.8 points and 1.5 three-pointers in 16.7 minutes per game.

McBride is not in New York's starting lineup against Atlanta in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs Saturday, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports. The Knicks rested their starters for this past Sunday's regular-season finale against the Hornets. That led to McBride entering New York's starting five, and in that 110-96 loss to Charlotte, he played 24 minutes and finished with 21 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal. The fifth-year pro will revert to a bench role Saturday and will be the primary backup at point guard behind Jalen Brunson.

McBride will start Sunday's game against the Hornets. McBride will make his first start since Jan. 17 due to the Knicks resting the majority of their starters for the regular season finale. McBride has played just five games since Jan. 27 due to injury, but he figures to see a substantial role Sunday.
