Karl-Anthony Towns: Breaking News

Towns had 18 points (7-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds and one assist in 36 minutes during Thursday's 109-93 win over the Cavaliers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Towns pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds, recording his third straight double-double. Although he was relatively efficient from the floor, Towns' impact on the offensive end was somewhat muted when compared to his body of work throughout the playoffs. In his past 10 appearances, Towns has averaged 16.2 points, 11.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.3 three-pointers and 2.2 combined steals and blocks.

Towns ended Tuesday's 115-104 overtime win over Cleveland in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals with 13 points (6-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt), 13 rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 40 minutes. Towns, while not at his best, chalked up his third double-double in the past four games, while also handing out at least five assists for the eighth straight contest. Matched up against the size of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley, Towns certainly held his own on both ends of the floor. He continues to serve as an offensive hub, averaging 6.7 assists in 10 appearances over the past month.

Towns tallied 17 points (5-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 10 assists, four rebounds and two blocks across 20 minutes in Sunday's 144-114 win over the 76ers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. While he put up only seven shots, Towns was extremely efficient on the offensive end and was one of six Knicks players to score in double figures. The star big man also impressed as a playmaker, leading all players in assists. He has taken on a larger facilitating role of late and has dished out at least six dimes in seven straight games. After sweeping the Sixers, Towns and the Knicks will now await the winner of the Cavaliers-Pistons series.
