A panhandler busted in Oklahoma City over the weekend says there’s no reason to get a job when he’s hauling in $60,000 begging on the street.
According to the police report, the officer approached Shane Warren Speegle, 45, and told him it was illegal to panhandle without a license. When Speegle was informed of the $200 fee required to obtain a panhandler license for the day, Speegle implied it wasn’t a bad deal.
When the officer asked Speegle why he didn’t just get a job, Speegle replied, “I’m lazy, and I made $60,000 doing this last year. Why would I go get a job?”
He was later arrested for continuing to panhandle without a license.
