A soldier who tried to cure his buddy’s hiccups ended up killing him instead, police say.
Spc. Patrick Edward Myers and his friend, both soldiers at Fort Hood, were drinking and watching football with another guy on Sunday night.
When the friend got the hiccups, Myers, 27, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, apparently tried to use the old “scare” cure, reports CBS. He pointed a gun at the buddy’s head — Myers claims he thought it was loaded with blanks — and shot the hiccuper in the face.
The 22-year-old victim died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital, according to the Killeen, Texas website.
Myers is charged with manslaughter with his bond set at $1 million.
