French Bees Ate Too Many Blue M&Ms & Made Blue Honey

It seems that the Bees in France are pullin’ a smurf. French beekeepers were alarmed to find that the latest batch of honey produced by their bees was blue. How did they make blue honey? M&Ms. Yes, it seems the bees of France have been chowin’ down on those sugary bits of choco-goodness.

Beekeepers in France are speculating that their bees have been playin’ around in a factory close to Alsace. The factory does business with the Mars chocolate factory and thus had containers with M&M residue in it. Bees got into the factory, ate some of the residue and then crapped out some blue honey (bees don’t really crap out honey, they regurgitate it). Once the factory found out about their bee trespassers the managers cleared out old containers and made sure that new shipments would be sealed in airtight containers.

That’s one theory of how the honey became blue. My theory? Feminist female bees are withholding sex from male bees. Males have blue bee balls and thus crap out blue honey. Either way, the honey is now unusable and the beekeepers had to throw out the batch.

Honey has become a bit harder to produce as of late. The bee population has decreased substantially in the past few years and harsh weather has prevented the bees from foraging for pollen.
