Moviegoers in the U.K. were a bit surprised as families gathered around to watch the cute and fun “Madagascar 3” were given a bit of a surprise instead – an unintended showing of “Paranormal Activity 4”.
Yahoo! Movies UK reports that families rushed from the theater of Nottingham’s Cineworld after a gruesome opening seen showing a bloody female corpse being thrown against the camera. Children were “shocked”, to say the least, and theater owners had to deal with a large number of upset children and irate parents following what many would consider a “less than ideal family outing”.
The accident was apparently the result of a technical error in the projectors causing the video swap, and all families who were there at the accident received not only refunds but additional complementary tickets and a free follow-up screening of the ACTUAL Madagascar 3 a half hour later.
Children may never take cute, cuddly animated adventures the same way again, though.
