Huge blasts rocked Gaza Thursday night into Friday as Israel pummeled rockets at more than 130 targets in Gaza City. 85 missiles exploded within 45 minutes in Gaza City early Friday, sending up black pillars of smoke over the area. The military said they were targeting underground rocket-launching sites.
The death toll is currently at 19 Palestinians, several of them being children, and an additional 235 people injured.
Israel also began mobilizing tens of thousands of troops, signaling a ground invasion might be growing near.
Much of Gaza is suffering from power outages from the attacks and people are stocking up on food and medicine as the violence shows no sign of ending.
The violence between Israel and Gaza started on Wednesday with the targeted killing of Ahmed Said Khalil al-Jabari, the top Hamas military commander. It’s been chaos ever since.
