Sen. John McCain spoke at a press conference today demanding a Watergate-style independent Congressional commission to probe the government’s handling of the deadly attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
The September 11 attack killed four Americans including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
McCain accuses the Obama administration of making deliberately misleading statements — specifically, citing the attack as part of protest violence in reaction to the hate film Innocence of Muslims, rather than a terrorist operation. Meanwhile, he preemptively trashed U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice as a potential selection for Secretary of State — saying she held the same B.S. line about the attack in her public statements.
