The Chicago fire department responded to a call last night when a vacant warehouse caught fire on Chicago’s south side. The fire is one of the biggest that Chicago’s FD has responded to in a while and officials are reporting that 1/3 of ALL Chicago firefighter personnel has been on the scene at one point or another since last night.
What makes the situation especially difficult is the sub-freezing temperatures in Chicago at the moment. Currently, it is 15 degrees in Chicago with a wind chill reaching low single digits and you can bet that it was colder last night. Not ideal conditions for blasting water out of a fire hose.
