WATCH: Father of Two Dies ‘Zorbing’ Down a Russian Mountain

One man is dead and another injured after a zorbing stunt went horribly wrong when it veered off course and tumbled down a Russian mountain. Zorbing is the extreme sport of rolling down a hill in a transparent orb.

27-year-old Dennis Burakov, father of two, broke his neck and spine in the accident, while his buddy, 33-year-old Vladimir Shcherbov, was hospitalized with a concussion and multiple lacerations to the head and body.

The video shows the giant ball carrying the men changing direction and rolling off a cliff while others frantically run to stop it.

Zorbing, a sport that originated in New Zealand, has been around for 17 years. Inventors of the sport told the Otago Daily Times that the man’s death was “very troubling.” Zorb chief executive Hope Horrocks is working on creating a code of conduct for safe regulations.
