Sorry Subway Promises to Give You a Full 12 Inches

Subway is promising to give you every inch of its sandwich love after the scandalous revelation that its footlongs were coming up short.

Subway has apologized for the mistake and promises to deliver, according to the Gothamist.

It started when a customer in Australia measured his sandwich and it came out to only 11 inches, so he posted a picture of it on Facebook and got over 100,000 likes, prompting customers to measure their sandwiches.

The story made the New York Post do its own investigation on NYC’s Subway chain, and the beloved tabloid found out that four out of seven of the sandwiches measured between 11 to 11.5 inches.

After the story was released, Subway said last Thursday saying that it would look over its policies and procedures to ensure that the customers are getting what they pay for. Even the states of New Jersey and Illinois sued the subway chain for not living up to its standards with their product.

After a week, Subway responded to the complaints with this following statement:

For 47 years, customer satisfaction has been our top priority. We regret any instance where we did not fully deliver on our promise to our customers. We freshly bake our bread throughout the day in our more than 38,000 restaurants in 100 countries worldwide, and we have redoubled our efforts to ensure consistency and correct length in every sandwich we serve. Our commitment remains steadfast to ensure that every SUBWAY® Footlong sandwich is 12 inches at each location worldwide.

But what about retroactive payment for all those inches we’ll never get back? Millions of half-inches add up to a lot of feet.
