Wanted fugitive Chris Dorner has officially been charged with the murder of Riverside, California, cop Michael Crain.
Early Thursday morning, Dorner opened fire on two patrol cops; the other officer is still in critical condition in the hospital.
Riverside DA Paul Zellerbach made the announcement at a press conference earlier this afternoon, saying that Dorner had made it clear:
…that every law enforcement officer in Southern California is in danger of being shot or killed.
Dorner has been given a “no bail warrant” by the DA’s office, and his charges make him eligible for the death penalty.
Since the announcement over the weekend of a $1 million reward for information leading to Dorner’s capture, police in California have dealt with over 600 calls relating to possible sightings of the former Navy reservist.
Video was released by the LAPD over the weekend of Dorner in training:
There are also rumors that Dorner is being hunted in California using drone spy planes.
