A member of the elite Navy SEAL Team 6 was killed yesterday afternoon when he collided mid-air with another SEAL during parachute training exercises over rugged desert terrain in Marana, Arizona.
The fallen SEAL was an E-8 Senior Chief. The surviving SEAL, an E-6 Petty Officer First Class, is in stable condition.
AP reports the SEALs were in “routine military free-fall training,” according to a Special Operations Command spokesman.
Team 6 is famous for executing the daring mission that killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.
