Outspoken singer Sinead O’Connor spoke to Channel 4 News in the UK this evening, in light of the election of Pope Francis yesterday, and during the interview she calls the office of the pope “anti-christian” and that Catholicism was a “house built on sand.”
O’Connor repeatedly claims that she is a Catholic and also reminded everyone that she was ordained a priest in 1999 by the breakaway Catholic faction, Latin Tridentine.
In the past, O’Connor has been an outspoken opponent of the Catholic Church, generally citing the child abuse scandals as the purpose of her numerous crusades.
