2 Shot in Santa Monica Alleyway: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Two people have been shot in a Santa Monica alleyway, not far from the college where suspected gun man John Zawahri wreaked havoc on Friday afternoon, reports KTLA.com.

There is no evidence to suggest that today’s shooting is related to Friday’s horrific events.

1. Two People Have Been Shot

A suspect approached two men at about 8:15 a.m. and opened fire before fleeing into a nearby car. One man has died after being shot in the chest, another is in surgery. Both men are suffering with “multiple gun shot wounds,” according to the LA Times.

2. It’s Been Confirmed as Unrelated to the Santa Monica College Shootings

The LA Times reports:

Law enforcement sources familiar with the investigation said the incident had no connection with Friday’s rampage that left five victims and the gunman dead at the college and surrounding neighborhood.

3. Cops in Santa Monica Are Searching For Leads

Police are searching for a blue Infinity in connection with the shooting, the partial license plate reads: 5HX-287. Santa Monica police are investigating the possibility that it may be gang-related and might have some connection to the shooting on Sunday of a cyclist.
