CVS & Walgreens Boycott Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Rolling Stone Issue

Today stores and businesses, most prominently CVS and Walgreens, large pharmacy chains in the Northeast, have proclaimed that they are refusing to sell the August issue of the Rolling Stone.

The controversy comes over the cover image which features suspected “Boston Bomber” Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in a reclined relaxed pose with long shaggy hair and a faint goatee. Most of the complaints about the cover come from critiques that it glorifies the terrorist. The cover accompanies a long feature piece about the life of Dzhokhar, or “Jahar,” which you can read here.
