A bomb squad in Fairfax County, Virginia carried out a search in a car outside of a local shopping mall, reports NBC 4.
The FBI reportedly stopped a car “as part of an ongoing investigation.” A man was arrested at the scene and the Fairfax County bomb squad were called in. The Eden Center shopping mall is an Asian themed shopping area at the 6700 block of Wilson Boulevard in the Seven Corners area of Falls Church.
The Falls Church News Press reports that the man was stopped for a traffic violation at around 9 a.m. local time. After the arrest, Fairfax County police spokesperson Don Gotthardt said that a bomb squad were called in due to an “abundance of caution.”
The area has been cleared and no device was found. FBI spokesperson Lindsay Godwin said that the man was charged this morning, his name and the charges has not been revealed.
