Shayanna Jenkins, the fiancee of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, was indicted today on a charge of perjury.
According to WCVB, Jenkins committed perjury in connection to an investigation against her fiance’s involvement in the death of Odin Lloyd, who was murdered on June 17.
Jenkins appeared in front of a Massachusetts grand jury, where he sentence was handed down.
Hernandez is accused of first degree murder and weapons charges in connection to Lloyd’s death. Lloyd was found dead in a North Attleborough industrial park, near Hernandez’s home.
In related news, Hernandez’s cousin, Tanya Singleton, also was indicted today on charges of conspiracy to commit accessory after the fact in connection to the death of Odin Lloyd. Singleton plead not guilty to the charges in August, after refusing to testify against Hernandez.
