Marlise Munoz is the Fort Worth woman who will be taken off life support after being declared legally dead by a judge in Texas, reports CBS DFW.

Here’s what you need to know:


1. She’s Been on Live Support Since November

Munoz have been brain-dead since November after she was found at home, unconscious, by her husband Erick. The Dallas Morning News reports that the hospital maintain she is “brain-dead” but has not been pronounced dead.


2. She Was 14 Weeks pregnant

She was 14 weeks pregnant when she fell into a coma. Her child has severe abnormalities according to doctors.


3. Her Family Wanted Her to Be Left to Pass Away

Munoz was being kept alive against her own wishes due to the fact that she was pregnant.


4. She Has to be Taken Off Life Support By January 27

Her husband Eric, had wanted the hospital to allow his wife to pass away. According the judge’s ruling today that the hospital, John Peter Smith Hospital, remove Munoz from life support, they will have until Monday at 5 p.m. local time to comply.


5. Munoz Has Been All Over the Mainstream Media

Her case has been taken on by pro-life campaigners who are protesting outside the hospital and courtroom where the decision was made regarding her fate.
