Storm Johnson has declared for the NFL Draft, the Orlando Sentinel reported on Monday.

Here’s what you need to know about the UCF running back:


1. He Transferred to UCF from Miami

Johnson spent his freshman season at the University of Miami, but transferred to UCF after the 2010 season.


2. His Breakout Year Helped Power UCF to National Prominence

Johnson broke out this year as UCF’s top running back, amassing 1,399 yards of offense and 17 total touchdowns. His spectacular 2013 season helped fuel the Knights to a 12-0 record, including a 52-42 upset win in the Fiesta Bowl over the heavily favored Baylor Bears.

3. He Joins QB Blake Bortles as UCF Stars to Declare for the Draft

George O’Leary’s Knights will not only lose Johnson, but also star quarterback Blake Bortles, who decided to forego his senior season and enter the draft as well.

A formal announcement is expected on Monday afternoon.


4. He’s Ranked the No. 9 RB Prospect

NFL Draft Scout ranks Johnson the No. 9 running back prospect in the 2014 class. He is projected to be a middle-to-late round pick.
