Shooting at Atlanta Kroger Food Store: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Shots were fired in a Kroger foodstore at 455 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville, Georgia, about 30 miles northeast of Atlanta, reports WSB-TV.

1. Customers Hid in Freezers

The shooting is reported to have happened inside the store. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, terrified customers and staff sought shelter in the store’s freezers. There was an altercation before the shooting.


2. Two People Are in Hospital

Lawrenceville Police Captain Greg Vaughan said two people have been taken to hospital Both victims were shot, reports Fox Atlanta with CBS Atlanta reporting that both victims are female, their conditions are referred to as “undetermined.”

One person has been arrested in relation to the shooting, according to WSB-TV reporter Tony Thomas.


3. Grocery Stores Are Swamped As Atlanta Prepares For a Winter Storm

With the Governor of Georgia declaring a state of emergency due to inclement weather, grocery stores all across the state have been overrun with people anxious to pick up supplies.

There is major police presence around the mall.


5. The Store Contains a Bank and a Pharmacy


The Kroger has an in-store pharmacy and Bank of America. It’s open seven days, 24 hours.
