With all the photos showing how the Sochi Olympics still aren’t ready, and the recent spat of journalists tweeting pictures of the questionable living conditions for the athletes, it’s easy to wonder how this all could happen given the nearly decade leeway the Russians had to prepare.
From the graphic above, it’s easier to grasp: the Sochi Olympic stadium and village arose from farmland, undoubtedly becoming eminent domain, or the Russian equivalent of, under the Kremlin.
