Prince William and Prince Harry are in Memphis this weekend to celebrate the nuptials of their pal Guy Pelly, who’s marrying Holiday Inn heiress Elizabeth “Lizzy” Wilson. The wedding is Saturday.

Here’s what you need to know about the royals’ “rowdy” pal:

His friendship to William and Harry is linked to his mother’s friendship with Princess Diana, William and Harry’s mom.

Pelly, who’s known as a party animal in London, owns numerous nightspots across England’s capital. The 32-year-old is a graduate of Newcastle University where he has a degree in land management. (It’s not clear how that degree helps him at all in nightclub ownership.) He’s regularly in business with reputed nightclub owner Piers Adam.

2. It’s a Three-Day Wedding Weekend

His wedding will be quite an affair, according to USA Today. It’s a three-day event staring on Friday with a reception at the Memphis Hunt and Polo club. There will also be a trip to Graceland as part of the party. The wedding takes place on Saturday, with the weekend wrapping up back at the Polo club, which is near the Wilson family home.

3. Pelly Organized William’s Bachelor Party

Pelly has regularly been pictured with Prince William over the past few years. In 2011, he was by his pal’s side as William married Kate Middleton. According to the Daily Mirror, William is going stag to Pelly’s wedding because the Duchess of Cambridge is still recovering from the couple’s ambassadorial trip Down Under. Harry served as his brother’s best man in 2011, but newspapers report that Pelly was in charge of the bachelor party.

4. Reports Say He’s Been a Bad Influence on Prince Harry

In 2005, when Prince Harry was pictured wearing a Nazi uniform at a costume party, Pelly was seen alongside him. A few years previously, tabloid reports in the UK said that Pelly got Prince Harry hooked on the marijuana.

5. He’s Charged With Drunk Driving

In 2013, Pelly was pulled over in England on suspicion of drunk driving. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, claiming the breathalyzer used during the arrest was broken. After being arraigned he was freed on bail. He’s due back in court on July 24, when a trial will be set.
