Wayne Rooney finally has his first goal for England in a World Cup game. The goal came after 80 minutes with England struggling to get into the game. There was some outstanding play by Liverpool’s Glen Johnson to get Rooney into position where he was able to slot home.
The Manchester United striker had never scored in a World Cup game before today. He now has 40 goals in total for England, level with Michael Owen.
