John Lackey, the former Red Sox pitcher who was recently traded to the St. Louis Cardinals, divorced his wife while she was going through breast cancer treatments back in 2012.

Here’s what you need to know about her:


1. She is Divorced from John Lackey

Lackey and Clark met while Lackey was playing for the Los Angeles Angels and got engaged in 2008. The former Red Sox pitcher filed for divorce from Clark while living in August 2011 stating ‘the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities.’ The couple was divorced in February 2012.

In 2010 before they divorced, Clark told the Portland Press Herald:

That’s what attracted me to him. I liked his Southern charm. He was just a quality guy, really respectful, always opening the door for me.


2. She Had Breast Cancer While Going Through the Divorce

When the public was in shock when they found out Lackey was filing for divorce from his wife of 3 years in the middle of her battle against breast cancer. Clark had a double mastectomy and had to go through chemotherapy in the upcoming months.


3. She Graduated from the University of South Hampton

Clark graduated in high school in 1998 and went on to attend the University of New Hampshire. She graduated with a degree in event planning and tourism.


4. She Has 3 Siblings

Clark, 33, was born in California on April 11, 1980 and moved to Maine when she was 12. She is the third of her four siblings Anthony and Amanda and then her younger sister Dana.


5. Lackey is Allegedly Dating Kristina Carter

As of right now, it hasn’t been confirmed who or if the two are dating anyone else, but rumors circulating imply Lackey is dating a woman named Kristina Carter.
