Westboro Baptist Church to Picket Joan Rivers Funeral

Well it’s looks as though the Westboro Baptist Church is planning to picket the funeral of comedy legend Joan Rivers. Just hours after Rivers died, on the afternoon of September 4, one of the Westboro Instagram accounts posted the above photo. In the pic’s caption, its reads “Shame on anyone who DOESN’T picket her funeral.”

The official Twitter account of Westboro, “@WBCSays,” has been suspended by the social network. While there are no funeral plans for Rivers announced yet, Westboro announced that its members will be in New York City, where Rivers lived, on a picketing mission from September 10.

It isn’t the first time Rivers and Westboro crossed paths, in July 2013, the comedian brilliantly offered to fund a musical based the horrible “church.”

The “church,” which has made its name in protesting the funerals of slain soldiers and victims of tragedies — somehow relating the deaths to God’s wrath over the acceptance of homosexuality in society — has proven time and again that no scenario is safe from the group’s vile opinions.
