Real Housewives of Atlanta star Todd Tucker has lost his mother, Miss Sharon. Miss Sharon raised Todd as a single mother after his dad passed away when he was 3 years old. From what viewers could see, Miss Sharon was a dedicated and loving mother who was crazy about her son. Read on for the sad facts on Tucker’s death.
1. Miss Sharon Died After a Stroke
Miss Sharon reportedly suffered a stroke in New York City on December 2, 2014 and a day later she has passed away. According to TMZ, Sharon slipped into a coma overnight while in the hospital after the stroke. Daily Mail had reported:
A friend of the reality star’s is reported to have discovered his mother Miss Sharon before she was rushed to a hospital, where she died the following day. Sharon was reportedly unconscious after suffering a stroke when Tucker arrived in New York.
2. Tucker Was At His Mother’s Side When She Passed Away
Tucker had flown from Atlanta to New York City when he was alerted of his mother’s stroke. Miss Sharon passed away with them by her side in the hospital. Tucker posted this message on his Instagram account upon losing his mother:
Today I lost my partner, my ride or die my best friend! I don’t know what to do? I’m lost! My heart hurts so much! She was a fighter, a warrior for her son! It was me and her against the world! She’s in a better place!! Mom I love you to death! Rest in peace!
Tucker’s wife Kandi Burruss was reportedly in Los Angeles when Miss Sharon died.
3. Miss Sharon Was Always Very Supportive Of Her Son
Miss Sharon was often of RHOA and was shown supporting her son in his business ventures, especially his projects with Burruss. She even attended events with the two. In the above photo, Miss Sharon attended the Broadway show “Cinderella”, starring Keke Palmer, along with Burruss and Todd.
4. Kandi Burruss’ Mother And Sharon Were Often At Odds
Kandi Burruss’ mother, Mama Joyce, often stirs up trouble for her daughter and her daughter’s husband Todd Tucker. Last season, she hit below the belt and said that Tucker’s father was a pimp and that Miss Sharon was basically a hooker. This wasn’t the only time that the two got into an altercation since Miss Sharon has been more than displeased at the disrespect Mama Joyce has shown her son Todd.
5. On This Season of RHOA, Miss Sharon and Burruss Argue About Her Mother Mama Joyce
This season on the show, Todd Tucker’s wife Kandi Burruss and Miss Sharon get into a big argument because of Miss Sharon voicing her distaste for Burruss’ mother. It’s understandable that Miss Sharon wasn’t fond of Mama Joyce since Joyce was never nice to Tucker. However, Burruss couldn’t sit back and not defend her mother, so this is where an argument began. Despite their fighting, Burruss loved Miss Sharon. Tonight she released this heartfelt statement on her Instagram:
Today has been a tough day. Our family has suffered a terrible loss. Sharon was the best mother in-law! She was fun, energetic, loving, & caring. I loved how she liked to get up & go all the time. She would get you in check one minute & give you a hug the next minute. She still had a young spirit. It’s unbelievable that she’s gone. I’m so sad for @todd167 because they were so close… He talked to her every morning & all thru out the day, every day. It’s hard losing people that you love but when it’s out of the blue with no warning it just makes it that much harder…. I’m still in shock.
