Charleston Shooting Suspect: Photos & Description

A closer look at the Charleston church shooting suspect, who has been apprehended in Shelby, N.C. by police. Commentators have noted that his nose appears to be a different color from his face and speculate he may be wearing a fake nose or other crude disguise. He also appears to wear a pouch or pack around his waist. The timestamp on the surveillance images is just before 8:17 p.m. on Wednesday evening. The shooting took place around 9 p.m. Police believe the shooter sat in the church for some time before opening fire on the prayer meeting.


The deceased victims of the shooting include six women and three men. There were three survivors. Among the victims was Reverend Clementa Pinckney, the church's pastor and the youngest African-American in South Carolina's history to be elected to the state legislature.
