Remembering 9/11: Bible Quotes, Verses, & Passages

Today is the anniversary of September 11. We honor the individuals who died in this act of terror with words of strength from scripture.

All verses are taken from the New International Version (NIV) translation of the Bible.


1. “In you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.” – Psalm 25:2-3


2. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147:3


3. “I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:20-23
