Q Flex entered the Shark Tank in Season 6 with a handheld acupressure device. Andrea Cao, then only in 8th grade, pitched her product alongside her mother. Back then, we interviewed her about how the company started and the device’s health benefits. Since then we’ve followed up with her two more times, back in April and August, to see how she was faring since securing a deal with Barbara and Mark. (See those interviews at the end of this article.)
As her episode re-airs on Shark Tank Week, we talked to her once again to see how is balancing the business with the start of her high school career.
So far, she hasn’t had to hire any new employees, and still relies on her mother’s support. “My mom is hugely involved in the business,” she explained. “If she weren’t there, there would be no Q-Flex! She dedicates every day, all day to the business. Everything that needs to be done that I can’t fulfill, she gets done. She is seriously amazing.”
As far as new developments go, the Q-Flex can now be found on sale at Brookstone. In addition to that, on their website, they are also selling a tie-in book, Release Neck Pain Now, which came about when physical therapist Geeta Singh started using the product. “She made some very informative YouTube videos showing different ways to use it, and we got in touch from there,” Cao said.
