Hurricane Patricia roared toward southwestern Mexico as a Category 5 behemoth, stronger than any other hurricane recorded in the Western hemisphere and even possibly the world. Boasting 200 mph winds as it approached land, Mexico braced for its impact. Since making landfall, the giant storm has weakened to a tropical depression and is expected to dissipate entirely soon.
