Alice Brooks and Bettina Chen of Roominate appeared on Shark Tank in Season 6, securing a deal with Mark for their building sets designed to empower girls. Heavy interviewed them when the show revisited their business in October. Doubling Website Sales & Launching New Products
Brooks: We launched our Roominate app, recently released a new set of Roominate dolls, and more than doubled our sales on our website from last year. We have more exciting deals in the works that we can’t talk about just yet.
Mark’s Unwavering Support
Brooks: Mark continues to be very involved with the company. He gives us valuable strategic advice and also provides resources such as help getting into new retailers. He has been very supportive and recently came to speak at Women in Toys Empowerment Day, where he gave the crowd great advice on starting their own company.
New Products & Bestsellers
Chen: Our best sellers are Roominate Chateau, Townhouse and Amusement Park. The new products are doing very well. This year, we’ve doubled the sales through our website and expanded our retail coverage. We also launched in retailers across Australia.

Chen: Last year, Chateau won TIME’s #1 Toy of 2014. Our products continue to win prestigious awards. Amusement Park has been nominated for a Toy of the Year Award by the Toy Industry Association. Vote for us here.
