LGBT protesters scheduled what some were calling an “epic dance party” outside the home of Vice President-elect Mike Pence.
According to The Huffington Post, the dance party was organized by “a queer activist collective in Washington, D.C.”
Some people danced to Beyonce.
The party occurred outside Pence’s home in the Chevy Chase area of Washington D.C.
You can watch videos of the dance party above and below.
The jokes quickly flew on Twitter:
Others were thrilled.
Fox 5 DC broadcast the dance party live on Facebook.
People said a “lone” Trump/Pence supporter showed up:
The dance party is part of a series of protests planned for the inauguration of President Elect Donald Trump. The Facebook page for the event reads, “The homo/transphobic Mike Pence has graciously invited us to shake our booties and bodies in front of/around his house in Chevy Chase. We plan on leaving behind [biodegradable] glitter and rainbow paraphinalia that he can NEVER forget. #WeAreQueer #WeAreHere #WeWillDance That’s right, get ready to WERK it and tell Daddy Pence: homo/transphobia is not tolerated in our country!”
Pence has been criticized by the LGBT community for his positions on LGBT issues. As Governor of Indiana, Pence has taken numerous measures to restrict the rights of people in the LGBTQ community. The Human Rights Campaign and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which score politicians on their work to promote equal rights, scored Pence a zero and a seven out of 100, respectively.

There was also dancing going on at a church steps.
And at a park:
