On Wednesday afternoon, IMDB users began to note that the webpage was not loading for those searching movies, TV shows, and celebrities.
A page that allows you to report IMDB being down registered 85 “Problems” as of 2pm ET Wednesday afternoon.
The company has not yet commented on the issue.
Those who unsuccessfully try and load IMDb will be led to a page that reads:
“D’oh! We’re sorry, something went wrong. Please try again…wait…wait…yep, try reload/refresh now. But if you are seeing this again, please report it here. Please explain which page you were at and where on it that you clicked. Thank you!”
IMDB, or the Internet Movie Database, is an online database of information related to films, TV programs, and video games. As of November 2017, the site had 4.6 million titles and episodes, and 8.2 million personalities in its database.
Users took to Twitter to voice their problems with the site starting just after 2pm ET Wednesday. One user wrote, “@IMDb is down. :'(” while another commented, “@IMDb Hello, why is your website not working?” The number of people commenting on the site being down had grown exponentially by 2:40pm ET.
The website Is It Down Right Now? reports that IMDB has been down since approximately 2:24pm ET Wednesday and that it is “currently under maintenance.”
