Heavy has contacted Jackson police for further details.

Ashlee Sims’ family reached out to Heavy with further comment. They wish to clarify her death was not suicide, and Sims did not intentionally record her death, but rather, her death occurred as an unfortunate accident while she was trying to retrieve the cellphone.

According to the WLBT report, Sims was streaming on Facebook Live when her phone fell out of the window of the car she was in on the I-55 South near Briarwood Drive in Hinds County.

When she exited the car to retrieve the phone, she was fatally struck by another vehicle.

Sims Can Be Heard Saying She Is ‘Drunk as a Motherf*****’ in the Video

Sims is singing and rapping to the song “Goin Straight In” by rapper Finese2tymes in the video clip, until the phone suddenly falls into the street. It is not clear who is driving the vehicle, but Jackson Police Department Public Information Officer Sam Brown told Heavy via email that Sims was not the driver. Jackson Police have not yet provided Heavy with the incident report.

The lyrics of the song include, “You playing Russian roulette … / Whoever thought I was next / Social media a mess.”
