Dallas signed Williams to a reserve/future contract Monday. Williams was a sixth-round selection by Denver in the 2021 NFL Draft. He saw action in two games as a rookie, catching one pass for 34 yards over 47 offensive snaps. Williams began the 2024 campaign with Jacksonville but was cut near the end of training camp, and the Cowboys signed him to their practice squad in early October. He'll get an opportunity to compete for a spot on the team's roster during training camp next summer.
Dallas signed Williams to its practice squad Wednesday. Williams didn't make the cut for the Jaguars' 53-man roster ahead of the regular season, but now he's getting a fresh shot with the Cowboys. The team only has five healthy wideouts on its active roster right now, so it's not out of the question that Williams could be elevated sooner rather than later.
Jacksonville waived Williams on Sunday. Williams spent all of 2023 on the Jaguars' practice squad, and his last NFL action was in 2021 with the Broncos. He finished the preseason with three catches for 15 yards across three games. Assuming Williams clears waivers, the 2021 sixth-round pick will look to catch on with a team's practice squad.
