WWE has chosen to revive one of its most dangerous match types for May 31, 2015 – WWE Elimination Chamber 2015. Not only will the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship be up for grabs inside the chamber, the WWE Tag Team Championship will also be defended within it. Here’s all the important results and highlights you need to know from WWE Elimination Chamber 2015.
Zach Ryder vs. Stardust
Winner: Stardust!
Highlights: The match began with both men locking up and getting into an exchange that saw Ryder get put down on two occasions. Ryder responded by landing a beautiful dropkick on Stardust. As the match continued, Ryder hit Stardust wit ha Flapjack and a dropkick to his strange opponent outside the ring. Back inside the ring, Stardust managed to land two powerful strikes that put down Ryder. Stardust even locked in a Bow & Arrow submission hold on Ryder, which was followed by a clothesline when Ryder got back up. Stardust laid in an arm submission as he Ryder lay on the mat helpless. Stardust went for a suplex, but Ryder reversed it by landing on his feet and using a neckbreaker. Ryder used this big move opportunity to get into his comeback offense. Stardust cut his offense off early though when Ryder went for a dropkick. Ryder managed to recover and push Stardust to the outside, which resulted in another dropkick. Ryder returned Stardust into the ring and went for a roll up pin, but Stardust attempted to reverse it and grab an illegal pinfall. Stardust was caught by the ref, but he soon landed a Side Effect slam on Ryder. The action continued as both men laid in their signature moves. Stardust became the victor after dodging a Rough Ryder and hitting the Queens Crossbow.
The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) (c) vs. Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando) vs. The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) vs. The Lucha Dragons (Kalisto and Sin Cara) vs. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro vs. The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O’Neil) (Elimination Chamber for the WWE Tag Team Championship)
Winners: And still the WWE Tag Team Champions, The New Day!
Highlights: The Lucha Dragons and The Ascension were the first two teams to start the match. The Dragons used a bevy of high-flying moves to put down their opponent for a good while. After landing several strikes into each other, both teams ended up in a stalemate. Cara threw Kalisto up to the cage above New Day, who chose to trap him by hitting his leg. Cara looked to land a big high-flying move on The Ascension, but they caught him with a huge double-team slam. After a few moments, Cara managed to hit a Swanton Bomb off the top of a pod onto Victor. Kalisto remained trapped above The New Day’s pod. Cesaro & Kidd entered the match next. Both men came in fresh and landed several awesome tag team moves on the two teams remaining in the ring. Cesaro managed to hop up and uppercut Kalisto while he was still trapped and then landed a big superplex. Kidd came in afterwards with a nice springboard elbow drop onto a prone Kalisto. The Dragons were almost eliminated, but Cara made the save. The Ascension began fighting it out with Kidd & Cesaro afterwards. Kidd locked Victor in the Sharpshooter, but Konnor mad the save. The Dragons got back into the match wit ha few cool moves of their own on the other two teams. At one point, Konnor planed Cara with a Dominator, but he survived the following pin. El Torito hit a nice Hurricanrana on Cesaro once Los Matadores entered the fray. All the while, Kalisto climbed up to the very top of the cage and dropped himself onto everyone below him. Los Matadores continued beating down their adversaries, but they were soon eliminated by The Ascension. El Torito got flung pretty hard before his team’s exit. The Dragons didn’t let The Ascension celebrate for long since they landed dual dropkicks on them. But they were then eliminated after The Ascension landed The Fall of Man on Kalisto. The Ascension kept up their mean streak by beating down on Kidd & Cesaro. Both teams went to war before the Prime Time Players entered next. Both The Ascension and PTP went to war soon afterwards. PTP eliminated The Ascension after Darren Young landed his double knee Gutbuster on Victor. Kidd & Cesaro and PTP then began going to war with a succession of big moves. Cesaro landed a nice side suplex off the top rope to Young as Titus powerbombed Cesaro all at the same time. The action continued with PTP getting the upper hand over the former champions. As both teams lay inside the ring hurt, all three members of the New Day entered and went to work on both teams. All of a sudden, PTP and Cesaro & Kidd landed a trio suplex on the New Day. In a smart maneuver by Kidd & Cesaro, they locked Xavier Woods in a pod to make the match more even. After Kidd & Cesaro used their double team Big Swing/dropkick on Kofi, Young rolled up Cesaro and eliminated his team. The last two teams came down to New Day and PTP. Woods escaped from his pod and helped his stable mates torture PTP. New Day stuffed Titus’ head through a hold in the cage and put the boots to him all the while. When New Day went for this finisher, Young escaped and made a comeback. As New Day lay damaged, Young helped Titus recover as he slipped his head out of the chamber. PTP then began beating New Day down, which was capped off with Titus dominating Kofi and flinging him back into the ring. Back inside the ring, Young hit Kofi with his finisher once again but was unable to secure the winning pin. The action got even more hectic as Big E landed a belly to belly suplex to Young onto the chamber’s hard ground. The finish came when Kofi landed his Trouble in Paradise on Titus while he held Big E in his arms. All three members then piled up on Titus to grab the final pin.
Nikki Bella (c) vs. Paige vs. Naomi (Triple Threat Match for the WWE Divas Championship)
Winner: And still the WWE Divas Champion, Nikki Bella!
Highlights: All three women circled each other before Naomi ate the brunt of the two women’s offense. Paige and Nikki got into a brief skirmish before Naomi pulled Nikki out of the ring and threw her into the outside barricade. Back inside the ring, Paige began beating down Naomi with a series of clothesline, strikes and even a Fall Away Slam. Nikki returned to the ring and landed a nice facebuster like knee to Paige. Nikki then forced both women into the ring corner and then landed her Alabamaslam on Paige. Naomi almost snuck away with a quick pin on Nikki, but Nikki kicked out. As the match wore on, Nikki found herself thrown outside once again while Naomi did more damage to Paige. Both women got on the top rope, but Nikki caught them both off guard by hitting a double powerbomb to them off the top rope. Nikki went for the Rack Attack on Paige, but Naomi put Nikki down with the Rear View. Paige looked to lock in her PTO on a prone Nikki, but Naomi kicked her before she could lock it in. Paige and Naomi continued to battle, which culminated in a backwards Frankensteiner done to Paige by Naomi. Nikki then retained her title by hitting the Rack Attack on Naomi.
