One of the biggest disappointments of the fantasy football season has been Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham. The perennial star when in New Orleans has been as dreary as a November in Seattle (admit it, they are).
So what’s wrong?
First of all, Russell Wilson is no Drew Brees when it comes to passing the football. Also, the Seahawks offensive line is brutal as Wilson gets sacked over 4 times per game, making Graham a blocker often when he should be running pass routes. And, actually, I’m not so sure Seattle knows how to use him.
Graham is 10th in targets among tight ends with 44 (roughly 6.3 per game), but has just 2 touchdowns and a single 100-yard game.
I don’t see it getting much better anytime soon. The Seahawks aren’t that type of offense. They’re a run-heavy team (most attempts in the NFL). Though later in the season the offensive scheme might be tweaked if the Seahawks find themselves in a race to make the playoffs. We’ll see. But as of now, Graham is a risky play.
