Before getting to the Week 8 quarterback rankings, let’s take a look at a couple injured signal callers and what their immediate fantasy future holds:
Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers — Big Ben was off to a fast start before going down with a sprained MCL in Week 3. While he’s expected to play in Week 8 vs. the Bengals, he might be a bit rusty. Nonetheless, the Bengals are allowing 262 passing yards per game (though only 8 touchdown passes) and the Steelers will finally be at full strength with Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant and Le’Veon Bell all active. That points to a fantasy start for Roethlisberger.
Tony Romo, Cowboys — Romo (broken collarbone) began throwing, but he isn’t expected back until Week 11 at the earliest. That’s getting close to fantasy playoffs time. If Romo is on your league’s waiver wire, he’s probably worth an add. But be warned, the Cowboys face some very tough pass defenses to close the year: vs. Panthers, at Redskins, at Packers, vs. Jets, at Bills, vs. Redskins.
