The helmet controversy should finally be coming to an end for Antonio Brown and the Oakland the Raiders. Per a press release from Xenith, Brown will be wearing the Xenith Shadow Helmet. This has been a long-running issue for the wide receiver, but it looks like he’s turned a negative into a profitable positive.
“NFL athletes have a choice in what helmet they wear. I choose Xenith,” said Brown, per the press release. “It’s not easy to make a change like this so far into your career, but the Xenith Shadow was the only helmet that could fit my needs on the field.”
“The Xenith Shadow, Xenith’s flagship helmet, is the most advanced helmet in the game,” said the press release. “Designed for the athlete, and rigorously engineered and tested for the field, the Xenith Shadow is an evolution of the company’s patented Adaptive Fit technology which decouples the head from the hit. Its streamlined design improves fit and protection while increasing comfort and agility.”
“Xenith products, including the new Xenith Shadow, can be found in all 32 NFL equipment rooms and have been worn on-field in the past seven Super Bowls. All Xenith helmets are Five-Star rated under the widely accepted Virginia Tech Helmet Ratings System and score in the “Top-Performing Group” of the NFL Helmet Laboratory Testing Performance Results. With product innovation led by Dr. Goulet, and additional research and guidance provided by Xenith’s Scientific Advisory Board of independent experts, Xenith is an industry leader in protective gear that performs to an athlete’s needs on the field.”
Players such as Nick Chubb and Frank Gore where the Xenith Shadow. While Brown may not have his perfect helmet, he should be much safer wearing this new helmet. The Schutt Air Advantage, his older helmet, was out of date and didn’t pass inspection. It’s a positive sign for a player that’s gotten a concussion in the past. The helmet controversy has cooled down ever since it was revealed that Brown had lost his second grievance. That being said, Brown has still found his way into controversy.

Antonio Brown Keeps Making Headlines
Antonio Brown has a nose for controversy over these last couple of years. 2019 started with him forcing his way out of Pittsburgh. The noise hasn’t gotten any quieter since he joined the Raiders. First, there were the frostbitten feet, then there was the helmet issue and now he’s complaining about a fine from Mike Mayock. Brown is one of the best in the business and playing football and he’s going to have to prove that again if he’s going to be worth the headache.
It looks like he has a good rapport with his teammates, but his antics will get tiresome very quickly. Luckily, quarterback Derek Carr needs him and he should get a ton of targets because of it. While some will probably believe that Brown will have a down year because he’s no longer with Ben Roethlisberger, he could surprise a lot of people in 2019.
