LeBron James’ Wife Turns Heads With Cryptic Post

The relationship between LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers could be getting dicey. With the team sitting at 27-31 and in ninth place in the Western Conference, the season hasn’t gone according to plan and tensions are starting to build.

Savannah James, LeBron’s wife, added fuel to the fire with a February 23 Instagram Stories post. In her story, she posted a picture of the Akron, Ohio, skyline and a caption that said, “there’s no place like home.”

LeBron and Savannah are from Akron, and aren’t shy about it. The Lakers star frequently refers to himself as “the kid from Akron.” The two clearly still have a lot of love for Ohio despite living in Los Angeles for the past four years.

The Lakers’ inaction at the trade deadline wasn’t a surprise, but it was a signal that they’ll have to figure out how to win with the roster they have.

That might not have sat well with LeBron, who at 37 years sold has only so many more years left to chase championships. During All-Star Weekend in Cleveland, the superstar turned heads with comments about playing with his son Bronny and how a return to the Cleveland Cavaliers someday could be a possibility.

Was Savannah Hinting at Something?

When a high-profile player like LeBron starts becoming unhappy, his life – and, by extension, his family’s life – is put under a microscope. As his wife, Savannah likely plays a big role in LeBron’s choosing his next steps. That being said, it might be unlikely that she’s trying to hint at anything.

Would James consider a third stint with the Cavaliers? According to a February 20 story by The Athletic’s Jason Lloyd, James told Lloyd: “The door’s not closed on that. I don’t know what my future holds.”

Then there’s the future of Bronny James, a 17-year-old standout at Sierra Canyon in California, to consider. The younger James is ranked No. 34 among the nation’s high school recruits for 2023, according to 247Sports. Bronny, who is a 6-foot-3 point guard, would be eligible to enter the 2024 draft, according to the Sporting News, but could potentially figure into the 2023 draft if graduates early from high school this year.

LeBron James, 37, has said he wants to play with his son in the NBA. In an episode of IMDb.TV’s “Uninterrupted’s Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers,” James said: “I want to be on the court with him.” He would be 39 if Bronny could make it to the league in the 2023-24 season. According to another story by The Athletic’s Lloyd, this one published February 21, Lloyd wrote James would “go anywhere to play with his son for the final season.”

Lakers Shouldn’t Worry Too Much

This whole situation is likely causing a big headache for the Lakers right now, but it’s not something they should be worried about. Unlike Cleveland, Los Angeles will always be an attractive destination for big-name players. That isn’t to say that they should alienate LeBron. In a perfect world, the two sides would resolve their differences and get back to winning but it’s important to note that the Lakers will be fine regardless.

In the end, the two sides will likely figure things out. Los Angeles has been very good to LeBron and his business ventures. With him only having so many years left to play, it might not be worth it for him to have to start over again with a new team unless it’s to play with his son Bronny. It’ll be a situation to watch going forward as the Lakers missing the playoffs could set a lot of changes in motion.
